The shop network and the Server Controller
Using SAHARA Core from other computers in your shop, approving devices, and what the Server Controller does.
Use SAHARA Core from other computers
- Choose Shop network in Setup, or switch it later in Server Controller › Settings.
- On the other computer, open the server PC’s address in the browser, with https:// (plain http is refused from other computers).
- The new device shows “This device is waiting for approval in the SAHARA Controller on the server PC.”
- On the server PC, in Server Controller › Network, Approve the device. You can also Refuse, Switch off or Rename devices.
Approve only devices you recognise, on your own shop network.
The Server Controller
Open it on the server PC at http://127.0.0.1:3190 (it works only on that PC, even while SAHARA Core is stopped). Sign in with the super-administrator password; five wrong tries lock it for five minutes. Forgot the password? uses your recovery key.
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| SAHARA | Start, Stop, Restart; optionally back up before stopping |
| Settings | Port, backup folder, who may connect, trusted addresses, printing mode |
| Data folder | Move the data folder safely: it copies, checks every table, then switches, and never deletes the old folder |
| PDF engine | Add the server PDF engine if it is missing |
| Backups | Back up now, schedule, restore: see Backup and restore |
| Access | Change the super-administrator password |
| Network | Approve devices |
| Support | Create a file for support (no books or passwords), and show the latest log lines |
