Licences, trial and Educational mode

The free trial, licensing, offline activation, and what Educational mode allows.

Free trial

Every feature, nothing capped. Each company can be written to for 120 days from its creation; a new company gets its own 120 days. The top-right corner shows Trial: N days left. Clicking it opens the Licence screen.

Educational mode

When a trial or licence ends, SAHARA Core moves to Educational mode:

  • Everything opens, prints, exports, backs up and restores as always.
  • Masters and settings can still be changed, and an XML import still works.
  • A new voucher can be dated only on the 1st, the 2nd or the last day of a month (AD date). Vouchers dated on other days can’t be altered, cancelled or deleted.

The refusal says so plainly and reminds you: your books are safe.

Activate a licence

On the Licence screen:

  • Alt+L: load the licence file SAHARA Labs sent you.
  • Alt+E: export a request file if this computer has no internet; send it to SAHARA Labs and load the licence file you receive.

The screen shows the state, who it is licensed to, the edition, valid-until and updates-until dates. A licence check never blocks your books.

Activation with a serial number and activation key, and moving a licence to a new computer by signing in, come with the first public release.

See Pricing and licences for the editions and ways to pay.
