Questions and troubleshooting
Answers to the questions people ask most, and what to do when something goes wrong.
SAHARA Core won’t start
The SAHARA icon says “SAHARA could not start. Your books are safe.” Choose Try again. If that doesn’t help, choose Repair SAHARA. Still stuck? Choose Create a file for support and send it to us: it contains no books and no passwords.
I forgot the super-administrator password
Open the Server Controller and choose Forgot the password?. You’ll need the recovery key you printed or saved at the first run. You get a new recovery key afterwards: keep it safe.
Setup stopped at “Checking this computer”
A line marked ✗ says why: Windows too old, under 4 GB of memory, under 3 GB free, or a port SAHARA Core needs (3100 or 5444) already in use. Fix that line and run Setup again.
“This company is in Educational mode”
Your trial or licence has ended. Your books are safe: you can open, print, export and back up everything. New vouchers can be dated only on the 1st, 2nd or last day of a month until you add a licence. See Licences.
Another computer can’t connect
Use the server’s address with https://, then approve the device in Server Controller › Network. See The shop network.
Does SAHARA Core need the internet?
No, not for daily work. Your books stay on your computer.
Can I use SAHARA Core on a Mac?
Not yet.
The figures differ from my old books after an import
Compare the Trial Balance for the same dates and tell us which line differs: see Import your books.
