Import your books

Bring your books with you.

Import masters and vouchers from an XML file, paste your lists from a spreadsheet, and load bank statements. Nothing is written until you have seen a preview.

XML file

Your whole books, from XML

Groups, ledgers with opening balances, units, stock items, stock groups and categories, godowns, cost centres, voucher types and vouchers with cheque details. Importing the same file again updates what changed and skips what is already there.

  1. 1
    Upload

Choose your XML file (the widely used <ENVELOPE> data-interchange format), or paste the XML.

  2. 2
    Parse

SAHARA Core counts what it found: groups, ledgers, stock items, locations and vouchers.

  3. 3
    Map

Place any group SAHARA Core can’t match, from a list.

  4. 4
    Preview

See every account, opening balance and exception. Nothing is written yet.

  5. 5
    Import

Commit, then compare your Trial Balance with your old books.

Spreadsheet

Paste your master lists

Copy rows from Excel or any spreadsheet and paste them into Bulk Import (Gateway › Create): items, ledgers, locations, units and batches. You see a preview, and duplicates are held back.

Bank statement

Load bank statements

Import a statement file (CSV, TSV or text) into bank reconciliation and match it against your books. Rows already imported are skipped.

Safe by design

  • Nothing is written until you have seen the preview and answered every exception: nothing is chosen for you.
  • If the file changes after you upload it, the import refuses to commit.
  • A damaged file imports nothing, and tells you to export it again.

After importing, compare SAHARA Core’s Trial Balance and Profit & Loss with your old books for the same dates. If a figure differs, tell us before relying on it.
